About Dammo Farmer
Dammo Farmer, a native of Chicago, Illinois, has established himself as an incredible talent amongst musicians in the industry today.
Born into a musical family, he has a natural gift and ability, however his passion and ear for music are what define him as a bass phenom. He is the creator of Good People Club (GPC), a music production company which supports his continued growth and development as a musician and producer.
Dammo was introduced to music at a young age, getting his start as the drummer in his family’s church band. Influenced by his older cousin and bandmate, Ethan Farmer, at the age of twelve, he developed a passion and natural talent for playing bass. At seventeen, Dammo got his first big break performing with Patti LaBelle; marking the beginning of his professional career. In 2003, he moved to Los Angeles to further pursue music and has since been afforded opportunities to work with a diverse group of artists, traveling and performing around the world.
Throughout his career, Dammo has worked with artists including: Patti LaBelle, Stevie Wonder, Babyface, El DeBarge, Toni Braxton, Brandy, Melanie Fiona, Danity Kane, Mario, Lupe Fiasco, T.I., The Game, Three 6 Mafia, Soulja Boy, Angie Stone, Yolanda Adams, Mary Mary, Kirk Franklin. Further, he served as the Musical Director for Danity Kane, Mario, Soulja Boy, and Angie Stone. His abilities encompass many genres of music from pop, hip hop, r&b, gospel, and even country. His talent, dedication, and work ethic continue to build his name within the industry. In the summer of 2010, Dammo traveled to The Gambia, Africa to perform with Jermaine Jackson at the Kanalai International Festival. As a bass player, it was a life changing experience to share the stage with one of his greatest musical influences and learn from one of the finest bass players of all time. In addition, he was featured on the back cover of the August issue of Bass Player Magazine alongside his idol, Jermaine Jackson.
Most recently, Dammo has been busy recording and producing tracks with artists including T.I., and Daley, a London based artist newly signed to Universal Music Group. Not long ago, he returned from Las Vegas, where he played another show with Jermaine Jackson. In addition, he has an upcoming project producing a record for Leona Lewis. While he maintains a very full schedule, he continues to dedicate himself to his craft, spending countless hours practicing his many talents. Whether playing bass, producing beats, or developing business ideas, the work ethic that Dammo Farmer upholds is sure to align him with a longstanding career in the music and entertainment industries.
